VW Boys CD Release Party for Listen to the Music
The VW Boys will celebrate the release of their second recording, Listen to the Music, on the Mountain Roads Recordings label at the new Pickin’ Porch in Bristol, Tennessee (located at 620 State Street on the second floor) on Monday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. The VW Boys will kick off the regular Monday night show with selections from their new CD.
Listen to the Music was released electronically through AirPlay Direct to radio personalities around the world and has been receiving tremendous airplay in the short time it has been in their hands. These markets include but are not limited to Canada, Australia, Brazil, Italy, France, Ireland, England, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. The CD will be available through the VW Boys and Mountain Roads Recordings websites.
The new CD features humorous songs such as “If My Nose Was Runnin’ Money”, “Five Pounds of Possum” and “Homegrown Tomatoes” as well as familiar songs “Listen to the Music” and “Love Potion Number Nine” played bluegrass style by Tim White (banjo), Dave Vaught (guitar) and Albert Blackburn (bass). And if you love gospel, you’ll enjoy the two tunes included in this CD: “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” and “Sweet Beulah Land”. You will also delight in the guest musicians that added their own special talents to the project: Lou Reid (Mandolin), Travis Houck (Resophonic Guitar), Hunter Berry (Fiddle), Leon Frost (Perka-Lighter and Percussion) and Matt Smith (The Master of Double Talk).
The trio combines wonderful harmonies and solid musicianship with elements of magic and a large helping of jokes that all come together to create a fun and entertaining variety show. It is obvious to all who have attended their shows that this is a group of men who clearly enjoy each other’s company, who know how to entertain and who respect the bluegrass music that we all love.
Come join us for a great evening of celebration of the heritage of our music and great music. The best part…
IT’S ALL FREE and you get cake and refreshments, too!
